Why am I concerned about my carpets being nicely vacuumed before the carpet-cleaning guys come? What are they going to say? "Hey, lady, your carpets are really dirty." Well, isn't that why I called you in the first place?

Hilarious! It's just like how I clean a little before someone comes to clean my house. Why? Because of the judging, of course, but puhleeze, Kim! She knows it's dirty. That's why she's coming. I suppose we're all allowed our little idiosyncrasies.
that is pretty funny! my great grandmother (a widow) used to partially mow her lawn before the lawn boys would come over. she would do the edges and around the trees... the HARDEST parts! she did that until she was probably in her late 70s.
